In 2021, alternative metal act LUNA KILLS released the excellent “not to be bitter, but it helps” and this year, they released a few singles, of which “BULLET” surprised us with its direction. It was thus time to catch up with the band’s vocalist, Lotta Ruutiainen, to see how 2022 has been for them and what we can expect from them in 2023. Read the complete interview here…
What musical goals did you set for 2022? Did you achieve them?
After releasing “not to be bitter, but it helps,” we wanted to release more music and define our sound a little more. Of course, we also wanted to finally get back to playing live. After experimental songwriting and three released singles later, we think we definitely are on the right path.
Were you able to dedicate as much of 2022 to your project/band as you had hoped?
Yes, maybe even more than what is good for your health.
What were some of the highlights you realized in 2022?
Every show we got to play, as well as how well our music was received, but to pick a few things: our first ever Tavastia show and the great partnerships we’ve made this year. More news about that coming later!
Is there anything you learned during 2022?
We learned that the most important thing is to trust yourself and your own vision.
Have you (re-)discovered any new music during 2022?
POLYPHIA and NOVA TWINS‘ new records were amazing. New highlights in findings were LORNA SHORE and SCENE QUEEN, for sure.
What can we expect from you in 2023?
Songwriting, recording, releasing, playing live – rip and tear.
