13.10.2017 Temple Balls & Battle Beast @ Nosturi, Helsinki

“Bringer of Pain over Finland” on Friday the 13th. Who is this Bringer of Pain? What kind of pain can we expect and will Friday the 13th be an unlucky day for us? Much of these questions can be answered by the fact that Battle Beast was scheduled for Nosturi on this date. Their latest release “Bringer of Pain” deserved a tour over Finland. Even though Friday the 13th is a spooky day and in general perceived as unlucky, that certainly did not stop the fans of Battle Beast to come down to see the band play, as they managed to sell out the show. Fans were waiting impatiently for the band to torture us with their awesome catchy music and tunes and a lot of jumping, dancing, and shouting along with them. Check out the gallery here.

The show opened up with Temple Balls. Temple Balls is an energetic 5-piece hard rock band from Oulu, Finland. Their debut album was released in 2016, one year later and the band is supporting Battle Beast throughout their tour in Finland. The band played an energetic and groovy set of 9 songs, of which one containing a cover “Whole Lotta Rosie” that the band played with a great energy. In general Temple Balls have a great sound, the lead singer is very promising and has good stage presence. The rest of the band is a bit more timid, but I am sure this is not the last we hear from them.

Finally it was time for Battle Beast to come on stage and show us what they’re made of. The band was excited to play again for Nosturi and were really pleased that the show was sold out. With “Straight To The Heart” they kicked off an excellent show, filled with songs from the new album, but also older songs like “Black Ninja” and “Iron Hand”. The band has the best energy and I can definitely tell that most likely it’s Finland’s best live band. The whole gig consisted out of a lot of smiles and dancing and just a general happy atmosphere. My personal highlights were “Into The Heart of Danger”, “Iron Hand” and “Touch in The Night”. But actually every moment of the concert I had the feeling that nothing could ruin their performance and I don’t have a single bad thing to write about. Everything was the way it should be, the sound was great, the lighting was great and more importantly the music was great.

The energy of the audience was something really nice, it felt like we were one, there was a lot of fun everywhere and no stress and a lot of people shouting along to the music and it was clear that everyone left with a smile on their face. “Out of Control ” was the mark of the ending of the show, but not before the band played us two more songs “King For A Day” and “Beyond The Burning Skies”. An ending that came way too soon, but was meant to be there. If you haven’t seen this band live, it sure is worth it to check them out, you will never be disappointed.
